Carmelin offers
unique accommodation with breathtaking sea views from your private suite for
two, in a sunny, south-facing house at the end of a quiet country lane. A
peaceful and relaxing home-from-home, a warm welcome and scrumptious home
cooking. The Carmelin Suite is the only accommodation available, so you do not
share your holiday or break with any other guests.
We don't think
that you will find a better sea-view for miles - seen in all its glory from your
bedroom, sun-room and the breakfast table. On a sunny morning the sea sparkles
in the distance, whilst cows and calves wander in the field, and swallows dart
about in the summer evenings. There are no road-traffic noises to disturb you,
as Pentreath Lane is an unmade road, and you will hear no more than the
occasional tractor, cow, chicken or dog. Step outside the gate and the coast
path will bring you to the sea within minutes.
The
accommodation we offer is a unique private suite for two people, with its own
entrance,
so you come and go as you please.
The
Sun Room
has both sitting and dining areas with a squashy, comfy sofa, log effect fire,
and fridge - and those spectacular views again. From here a door leads to the
double bedroom, the
Blue Room,
with colour television, Freeview box and video, and your own bathroom and
separate loo.
The breakfast at Carmelin is a lavish and healthy offering, which
has received nothing but rave reviews and satisfied sighs. On the table you
will find seasonal fresh fruit and a compote of summer fruits, raspberries or
blueberries … home-made yoghurt and local milk … delicious granary toast,
muffins, bagels, croissants or pains-chocolats … four different cereals, from
home-made muesli to organic Weetabix … homemade preserves, marmalades and nut
butters … orange and berry juices … a selection of teas and coffees. This is no
mere "continental" breakfast, but a Carmelin breakfast-time feast which will set
you up for the day.
Special diets can usually be catered for if you tell us in
advance and we also offer evening meals, with a menu that you won’t find
elsewhere. All meals include a complimentary bottle of wine (and/or B.Y.O.),
and are taken at your dining table overlooking the sea, often with a fabulous
sunset.
You are welcome
to bring your pet as we are extremely animal-friendly.
The Lizard is
England's most southerly point. The countryside offers you soaring cliffs,
sandy beaches, dramatic coves and wide open spaces. This is a paradise for
walkers and wildlife enthusiasts, with the south west coast path meandering its
eccentric way just a few hundred yards from our door. On rainy days there is a
host of interesting places to visit, from beautiful gardens to hi-tech Goonhilly
Satellite Earth Station - you need never be bored.
